Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has taken legal action against former presidential candidate Victor Font, according to a report from SPORT.
This development comes after Font made remarks regarding the signing of Brazilian talent Vitor Roque, implying that Deco’s involvement in the transfer may have been questionable.
Deco’s decision to file a lawsuit stems from a desire to protect his reputation. The situation escalated after comments made by Font during an interview.
What did Font say?
Font suggested that Deco, during his previous role as a player agent, had facilitated the transfer of Roque to Barcelona, despite the player’s official agent being Andre Cury.
Font’s insinuations implied that Deco may have gained an advantage from the deal, which has reportedly caused significant frustration for the Portuguese sporting director.
In response, Deco has opted to pursue legal action, accusing Font of making defamatory statements.
