Barcelona, Real Madrid receive boost in pursuit of 22-year-old Manchester United forward

As reported earlier this month, Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the clubs keeping a close eye on the performances of Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.

The 22-year-old signed for Getafe on loan during the summer after the Red Devils decided not to reintegrate him into their squad following the controversy he was involved in.

Greenwood has been in good form in Spain and has shown signs of recovering his best form, attracting the attention of scouts from several clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Manchester United not planning on recalling Greenwood

Despite his improved form in Spain and the growing interest in his services, Manchester United have no plans to bring Greenwood back to the club next season, reports talkSPORT.

This comes as a boost for the clubs interested in the 22-year-old Englishman, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, as he will very likely be sold by the Premier League giants in the summer.

Since joining Getafe, Greenwood has scored five goals and set up four more from 15 appearances across all competitions, demonstrating his potential and quality.

Naturally, it has led to clubs flocking to keep an eye on his progress and despite his improvement on the pitch, there are no plans for Manchester United to reintegrate him into their team.

As such, Greenwood is expected to see out his loan stint at Getafe before being sold permanently by Manchester United, meaning the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid could land him in the summer if they are serious about acquiring his services.
